Celebrate musical storytelling from around the world at Saturday’s Choral Colors of the Continents performance

Tulsa Chorale will celebrate musical storytelling from around the world at its “Choral Colors of the Continents” performance on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Cascia Hall, 2520 S Yorktown Ave, Tulsa, OK 74114.

“As I travel the world, I find that we as humans have so much more in common than we have differences,” says Dr. Tim Sharp, Artistic Director for Tulsa Chorale. “One of those commonalities is that we convey our values and our passion for life through our storytelling, and choral music is about telling stories. This is what we are celebrating in our ‘Choral Colors of the Continents’ concert.”

The performance will include choral music from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The portion from Asia will be performed by “The Women Singers,” a sixteen-member Chinese guest choir from the San Francisco area, directed by Dr. Karl Chang.

“This summer I set foot on six of the seven continents of the world,” Dr. Sharp says. “Some people bring home tangible souvenirs from their travels. As a choral conductor, I bring home music from the cultures I visit. I am thrilled that we can share this music from around the world through the gift of these choral stories in song.”

Tickets are 25 dollars for adults, 20 dollars for seniors, 10 dollars for students and may be purchased by visiting www.tulsachorus.com or eventbrite.com.
